In the mysteries we all can see. Awakening

Time Will  shift constantly and nothing will change unless you are prepared to embrace the changes that make their path to YOU
Only with Intention and Truth  can you embrace the power that lies within  and manifest the changes you seek.
Wishes in the heart are sleeping until you awaken them with action and determination to fulfill the path you truly desire.

10 Personalities You Need To Avoid In Life

10 Personalities You Need To Avoid In Life

Being able to identify these ten different types of people will allow us to protect ourselves if they happen to appear in our lives. Instead of getting caught up in a frustrating or messy relationship, we can head them off at the pass and focus our energies instead on pursuing those individuals with whom we can have satisfying and meaningful relationship
s, devoid of unnecessary complications.
Life is challenging enough without our adding to the things that might go wrong. Knowing more about the types of people to avoid and the kinds of problems they’re likely to create in our lives will help us prevent a lot of unnecessary suffering.

Number ten on the list is the “Volcano.” This is a person who carries around a whole lot of anger. You have to know that sooner or later the volcano is going to blow, and will spill hot lava all over you. Their reaction might be triggered by something you do or say but in reality, you couldn’t possibly have done anything to evoke this intense an explosion. You’ll end up walking around on eggshells, when what you need to do is just walk away.

Number nine on the list is the “Dreamer.” This is someone who always has the next big secret of success just at their fingertips. They’re filled with great ideas and plans; the thing is, they never follow through. Or, if they do, it wasn’t carefully thought out and it’s an unmitigated disaster. These people usually end up in huge debt and even going bankrupt. Attaching yourself to someone like this is a guaranteed way of getting dragged down with them.

In the eighth spot on the list is the “Lost Boy/ Girl” This person, be they male or female, is living out the Peter Pan scenario. They are refusing to grow up and are subtly trying to manipulate those around them to take on their care and feeding. This person is making a choice. They actually could grow up if they wanted to. Because they refuse to be responsible for themselves, they’ll be a burden on you forever. Walk away.

Number seven on the list is the “Narcissist.” This person loves themselves to the exclusion of everyone else. Initially, they might appear charming and fascinating but eventually you’ll realize that it’s always all about them. They don’t take an interest in you and can be quite callous when you are in need of their empathy or support.
If you manage to inadvertently interfere with them getting their needs met, you’ll see their dark side in the fury they unleash when thwarted. They also experience your standing up for yourself as an offense against them. All in all, not someone to associate with if you enjoy being treated with respect.

In sixth place on the list is the “Drama Queen.” This person can be male or female, and they’re characterized by the need to be the center of attention and to create drama everywhere they go. Either they are in trouble and needing to be rescued or they make trouble for the people in their lives. They even like to pit one person against another. Run, do not walk away from such an individual.

Number five on the list is the “Cynic.” This is an angry, bitter individual who sees the bad in everything. They are jaded and feel as though nothing can surprise them. This is just a psychological defense against their own feelings of vulnerability. They have unconsciously decided that this is the way to avoid being hurt. The problem is, they are very hurtful to us in their nasty negativity. Because they are so attached to this identity, they’re unwilling to let it go. We need to let them go.

In fourth place on the list is the “Charmer.” This person may appear attractive and they certainly know all the right things to say, but they’d sell you down the river in a moment’s notice without an ounce of regret. Their whole reason for being is to manipulate and exploit others. They lie with a smile on their face. They cheat, steal and break all the rules and they do it all with such finesse. These people are dangerous to body and soul; not to mention our pocketbook. To be avoided at all costs.

Coming in at third place is the “Complainer.” This individual blames everyone else for everything that’s going wrong in their life. Because they refuse to be accountable for the consequences of their choices, they’ll keep repeating the same mistakes and will continue to accuse those around them of causing their misfortune. If you constantly want to be made to feel responsible for their problems, stick around. Otherwise, feel free to spend your time with people who don’t play this game.

In the second spot on the list is the “Boor.” This is a pretentious name-dropper and social climber who see you as a way up on their road to success. They crave money, power and fame and will stop at nothing to obtain these things. Social interactions are all strategic to them and designed to maximize their access to all the fancier things in life. I like to call this person the “Bore.” You can do better.

In first place on the list of people to avoid is the “Wild Child.” They are the rebel, the rule-breaker, the one who acts on impulse. At first they might seem exotic and exciting but very quickly we see that their impulsive behaviour is destructive to them and to the people who they’re close to. Their recklessness and disregard for their own and other’s welfare quickly loses its allure. They might be willing to take the consequences of not thinking before they act, but we don’t have to. There’s fun and there’s downright stupidity.

DEC 22nd - JAN 20th

THIS YEAR 2014 - You will embark on a journey that is unexpected but will bring you great happiness.

Your element: Earth
Your ruling planets: Saturn
Symbol: The Goat
Your stone: Garnet
Life Pursuit: To be proud of their achievements
Vibration: Poweful resilient energy
Capricorn Secret Desire: to be admired by their family and friends and the world at large

The sign of the high roller, Capricorn is regarded as the zodiac’s top, but also quiet, life and business achievers. But, there are two very different types of Capricorns.
The first is represented by the mountain goat, always climbing higher and higher; never content until reaching the top. The second is the garden goat, with little adventurous spirit or ambition-happy to remain within a small domain, refusing to budge unless it is pushed. Either type of Capricorn, however, is patient and persevering. They reach their goals because they know the longest journey commences with a single step and that the first step is always the most difficult.

The one thing a Capricorn must always try to do is balance work with play; otherwise they can become too one-sided and work can replace true personal emotional fulfillment. Continually climbing the eternal mountain of success, Capricorns rise to the occasion when faced with a new task or deadline. Even if something comes to a grinding halt, their ambition to reach the ultimate keeps them moving forever onwards and upwards (prompted by the strict influence of ruling planet Saturn). Although conservative and cautious, Goats are willing to try unusual approaches on their road to success in business or in love. Romantically, they desire a permanent relationship with someone who'll give them the affection they crave (and often neglect to give themselves!)

The rulership of Saturn - the planet representing responsibility, structure and hard work - ensures that Capricorns in their truest of expression, are ambitious, practical and superb organizers. Although many Capricorns are borderline workaholics, this doesn't necessarily make them dull or gloomy! They have an offbeat sense of humor, which seems to erupt at the most unexpected moments. Their motivating force in life is success, money, status, authority and - although many might not admit it - love. By nature Capricorns are cautious when entering a new love relationship, but once they feel 'safe' with their partner, the cool exterior melts away to reveal a sensitive and loyal heart beneath. As a friend, Capricorns can be relied upon to provide the strongest and most sympathetic pair of shoulders in the zodiac...

Blessings for the year ahead my Capricorn Friends

Angels Walk Beside You

Candle Spells you can do at home. Blessings

Candle rituals have been around for centuries.
You light the candles, maybe close your eyes while repeating a spell or that which you
wish for and visualizing it coming true.
It is a combination of the need or desire, and the ability to visualize the outcome.
Candle burning spells and rituals are very easy to do and to have success with if they are
done correctly and you truly believe. The different colors of candles each have their own symbolism.

Here is a table of the colors and their meanings.
: truth, purity

: love, health, sex, strength

: money, luck, fertility

: neutrality, uncertainty, hesitation

: love, morality, honor

: power, business progress, ambition

: attraction, stimulation

Greenish Yellow
: jealousy, anger, discord

: neutrality, stalemate, negativity

Light Blue
: tranquility, patience, health

Dark Blue
: depression, changeability

Candle spells can be very easy or complicated.
It all depends on how much time you want to put into a ritual.
It can be as simple as lighting a green candle and chanting... money money come to me.
It can also be very long and complicated lasting several days with the repositioning of
the candles each day. The choice is always yours.
The first thing you want to do is get the appropriate color candles for your particular desire.
Then you need to anoint the candle with oil. Olive oil will do fine when your just starting out.
For a more advanced assured outcome sacrament oil will be needed It can be purchased by the vial by directly contacting me ONLY

You need to rub the candle with the oil from the middle outward to the ends.
As you are doing this you need to be thinking of your desired goal.
Then sit and meditate on your desire after lighting the candles, then read your spell
or chant your appropriate mantra.
You don't need some elaborate spell with a bunch of big words or words you don't
even know how to pronounce. You can make your own spells or rituals.
Think of your desire then make a simple little rhyme that tells about your desire in it.
It doesn't even have to rhyme. This is all about will power, the power of positive thinking, the power of spiritual magic
and creative visualization. If you can do these things then you will send those vibrations out
into the universe and eventually they will materialize.
Light a candle (I tend to use a blessed white tea candle) and place it by the window sill at night.
This is you calling out to your love.
take an orange candle anointed with cinnamon oil, clove, or lotus oil.
Light the candle and say 3 times:
"brimstone, moon, and witch's fire,
candlelights bright spell,
good luck shall I now acquire,
work thy magic well.
Midnight twelve, the witching hour,
bring the luck I seek.
By wax and wick now work thy power
as these words I speak.
Harming none, this spell is done.
By law of three, so mote it be!"
Do this spell at midnight.
Timing: During the waning moon. Use a brown candle (an image candle, if you can)
to represent the person who is harassing you.
Write the person's name on the front and back of the candle.
On a small piece of parchment paper, write:
'From now on, (name) will say nothing but sweet words about me and to me.
By the power of Aradia, so mote it be!'
Put a drop of honey in the middle of the paper and roll it into a ball.
Heat a knife, pin or your athame, make a gash in the candle (in its mouth, if it's an image candle)
and stuff the paper ball into it.
Let the candle burn a little while every night for an odd number of nights, to a maximum
of nine nights. Throw the remnants into flowing water, but save some candle drippings
or ash to sprinkle in the path of your oppressor.
Get a white candle -- either a plain one (offertory, pillar, or taper) or a figural one in the
gender of the person you want to bless. Carve the person's full name on the candle,
then dress it with Blessing Oil or Holy Oil. For more power, you may place a name-paper
of the person, or a photo, or some personal item of theirs (such as a bit of hair or a snippet
of clothing) either under the candle or next to it. One easy way to do this is to place the
paper or personal concerns under an overturned saucer and put the candle on top of the
saucer. Burn a portion of the candle every day for seven days, pinching it out between burnings.
As you light it each day, say this
[Name], may you be blessed
May all good things come to you
May nothing whatsoever harm you
May your heart be light
May your travels be safe
May your health be good
May your mind be sound
May your friendships sustain you
May you be blessed in every way
If you have a special request for this person (such as that they find a lover, get a
good job, come home safely from a war, or whatever), just add it to the list.
Some people use a large pillar-type candle and keep it going for longer than seven days.
They may make a habit of burning such a candle every day -- or once a week, on Sundays --
for as long as their friend or relative needs help, even doing so for months at a time.
If the candle is large and it is to be burned in this way, it should be re-dressed with
Blessing Oil or Holy Oil once a week: after the initial dressing, you can drop a tiny bit of
oil into the "well" or hole in such a large candle just before lighting it each time.
Get a large white candle, the kind that drips wax, and set it up on a tray.
Affix to it a photograph or other image of the person you wish to bind.
Make a ring of sea salt around it. Make a second ring with protective herbs.
Some dried rosemary from the kitchen will not break your bank. Or use sage if you like.
Fill the rest of the tray with images that represent what you are binding the person from: pictures
of your family, keys to your house, legal documents, whatever.
If the problem is too complex for images, write what the person is bound from on slips of
paper and place them around the candle. Maybe they are gossiping and making your life
a misery. Write it down and explain what you want stopped.
Papyrus, or good thick paper made from cotton or linen work best for this.
I have pinched the first blank page of old books at sales!
Use red ink if you are angry, purple ink if you are sad.
Wrap the candle and the image with black thread (use cotton tread or linen or even wool, if possible).
Invoke Isis and "Linda the Binder With Linen Thread."
Say out loud what you are Binding the person from.
Light the candle and leave it burn until the wax begins to drip over the thread and image.
Burn it every day for a week, until the image is thick with wax.
Use this as a meditation device to direct your will to Binding the person.
You will have direct results if you have a just reason for this spell.
You can also Bind a person from harming themselves.
Light two black candles and chant:
In the name of Holy God the Father Blessed Mother Earth and all ye Spirits
 the light and the dark
And the Gods of the Netherworld
And whosoever shall be casting a curse against me
Let them suffer their own curse
Let these candles be their candles
This burning be their burning
This curse be their curse
Let the pain they have caused me and mine
Fall upon themselves
Do this spell for five consecutive nights (as close to midnight as possible) and each night
chant the spell until the candles are spent.
This type of candle magic is very basic, yet quite effective.
This is a good time to iterate how closely Karma and ethics are intertwined.
You choose your own color of magic, not once, but each time you practice.
Some traditions believe in Karma as "What you do comes back to you".
Keep in mind that for any magic it is best (though not necessary) to do calling
magick, such as money, love, health, luck or anything that brings
something to you, during the waxing moon (first quarter) to the full moon. Banishing magic,
such as bindings, quitting bad habits, curses or anything pushing energy away should be
done during the waning moon (last quarter) to the new moon. These are optimal times,
but you cannot always base your magic around the moon. Basic candle magic deals
only with two colors, white and black
Envision the white candle as the waxing to full moon and the black candle as the
waning to new moon. For any calling purposes, use the white candle.
For any banishing purposes, use the black candle.
(Note: Always use candles that are one solid color throughout.
Scratch some wax off to test this if you are not certain.)
You Will Need:
One white or black candle Candle holder Matches or lighter Olive oil
Basic Candle Magic Spell
Perform STEP ONE, Meditation.
For white candle:
Rub oil from the tip of the candle towards the base, while humming and visualizing your
reason for doing this spell. Continue humming and visualizing for about five minutes.
For black candle:
Rub oil from the base of the candle towards the tip, while humming and visualizing your
reason for doing this spell. Continue humming and visualizing for about five minutes.
Continue for either candle. Place the candle into the holder and light it.
Chant your chant for as long as you can while visualizing your purpose.
To chant, use a monotone humming voice.(You should create a specific chant for your purpose.)
It can be as simple as one word or as complex as you wish.)
(Examples: "Money, money, come to me", "bring love", or "Protection surround me, complete serenity".)
When you cannot chant and visualize any longer, put the candle out and repeat the
spell the following night (or day).
After you see the first glimpse of the results of your spell, let the candle burn all the way out.
Remember, after the completion of any spell or ritual, say: "So mote it be."
This spell should be used only after you have submitted your resume or application.
With a pin twig  or sharp knife, write the name of the company(s) you want to work for on the
side of a large green candle. On a red candle, you need to carve the victory rune
(Tiwaz, it looks like an arrow, pointing up) and your full name. Burn both candles for
30 minutes on Thursday after the sun sets, while visualizing yourself getting the kind
of job you want. At the end of the 30 minutes, snuff the candles (do not blow them out).
Burn them each Thursday after that for 15 minutes until they burn out, or until you get the job.
Dispose of the candles and leave a small bowl of milk outside overnight as an offering.
On a blue candle, use a pin to inscribe-moving from the base to the tip-the name
of the person who is ill. Pierce the candle with the pin and leave it there.
Let the candle burn down and extinguish itself.
Materials: 1 pink candle 1 bottle of 100% Virgin Olive oil
Take the candle and place it on a table or your altar. Now take the olive oil and rub on to
the candle starting in the middle and going up, then starting in the middle going down.
While purifying the candle with the oil you want to recharge the candle with love and desire,
so visualize love and channel all your emotion into the candle.
After the oil is finished, take a knife twig or pin and carve what it is you want into the candle.

What are Akashic Records ?

Akashic Records

What are Akashic Records ?
Akashic Records are an energetic imprint of every thought, action, emotion, and experience that has ever occurred in time and space.  The Akashic Records can also be understood as the imprint of all experiences of all lifetime in all realities.  They are an etheric, holographic repository of information for human consciousness for the past, present and potentials for the future.  The energy that makes up the Akashic Records is the energy of Love!  The knowledge contained in the Akashic Records is imprinted upon a subtle substance called the Akasha, which describes the energy of Love that permeates and creates everything in the Universe.
The Akasha is available everywhere, all the time.  Everyone can access information from the Akashic Records at any time, and indeed we do!  The flashes of intuition and knowing hunches that occur every day are glimpses into the divine wisdom contained in the Akashic Records.  Every being in the Universe contributes to and accesses the Akashic Records.  Because we are all created by and connected to the energy of Love, our divine birthright includes having access to the divine wisdom and knowledge contained in the Akashic Records.
The Akashic Records contain all past, present, and future possibilities through the vibrations of compassion and joy.  They are like the DNA of the universe.  They contain a collection of everything that has occurred in the past, and they hold a complete set of information regarding possibilities for the future.  Every individual soul has its own, unique Akashic Record.  The souls of groups, events, organizations, and locations also have a unique Akashic Record.
One way to understand the Akashic Records is to envision them as a book that contains the entire history of your soul, as well as every aspect of who you are now and all the potentials for your future.  This metaphorical book is so vast that it could never exist physically.  Instead, it is recorded energetically in the vibration of the Love that makes up everything in the Universe.
The clear truth contained in the Akashic Records allows us the freedom to choose grace in all things.  When we know the truth, we can release any illusions we have created that cause us to believe we are separate from God, Spirit, or Source.  The Akashic Records are one of the most powerful tools available on the planet today, to help us remember our Oneness with every being in the Universe, and to find our personal and collective power to create the realities we desire.
What is the history of the Akashic Records?
The concept of the Akashic Records has been referred to in every spiritual tradition on the planet.  In the Bible, it is referred to as the Book of Life.  The Akashic Records are also referred to as the Cosmic Mind or Universal Mind, as well as the Eye of God and the Word of God.  References to the Akashic Records, or the eternal Book of Life, date back to antiquity. References in the Old Testament and beyond give us the sense that there is a collective storehouse of knowledge that is written on the fabric of reality.
The energy that contains the information in the Akashic Records is called Akasha, which is a Sanskrit term meaning “primary substance.”  This is the energy that makes up everything in the Universe.  It is the energy of love.  In Hindu mysticism Akasha is thought to be the primary principle of nature from which the other four natural principles of fire, air, earth, and water, are created.  Every vibration that occurs in the Universe through our thoughts, words, and deeds creates an indelible imprint on the Akasha, leaving an energetic recording of every soul and every creation.
The word, Akasha, is derived from two ancient Tibetan or northern Indian words.  “Aka” means space, storage place, or repository, and “Sa” means sky, hidden, or secret.  A simple translation of “Akasha” is “an unseen space or storage place.”  The Akashic Records are, then, a hidden library of records imprinted on the subtle space of the Akasha.   The Akashic Records are believed to have existed since the beginning of the time-space continuum of planet Earth.
Who has access to the Akashic Records?
Just as we have various kinds of physical libraries, such as law libraries and medical libraries, there are various ethereal libraries in the Akashic Records.  Every person, animal, group, organization, event, and location on Earth has a unique Akashic Record.  By divine birthright, we have the ability to access our own personal Akashic Records, as well as the Records of any group of which we are a part.
Every being on the planet can access the areas of the Akashic Records of which their soul plays a part.  Alternately, no one can access our personal Akashic Records without our express permission.  The Akashic Records are protected by spiritual beings who are referred to as the Guides, the Keepers, or the Guardians of the Akashic Records.  These Spirit Keepers help us access our Akashic Records, and they hold strong energetic protection for the information contained therein.
How can I access the Akashic Records?
People access the Akashic Records often through intuition, prayer, meditation, and flashes of insight.  Many of us experience these glimpses of the Akashic Records on a daily basis.  For many people, intentionally opening ourselves to our intuition and inner guidance provides a powerful opening to the information in the Akashic Records.
We can learn to access the Akashic Records more specifically through learning techniques for opening the Akashic Records.  These techniques can include the use of meditations, breathing techniques, and a sacred, spoken prayer of opening.
In addition to opening the Records ourselves, we can find great clarity through an Akashic Records consultation.  A Consultation, or Reading, consists of having someone who has experience and expertise in working with the Akashic Records open your Records so that you can receive information from them.  An Akashic Record Consultation can be extremely valuable, because it offers specific information that arises directly from your personal soul journey.  Every conceivable question regarding your life and your soul journey can be answered during an Akashic Records Consultation.
What information can I get from the Akashic Records?
The Akashic Records contain every thought, emotion, action, and experience that has ever occurred in time and space.  Your personal Akashic Records contain every piece of information regarding your soul’s experience.  In the Records, you can learn about your relationships, your health, your soul path, and every other conceivable topic regarding you!  Because the information in the Akashic Records is held in the energy of love, the answers you receive to questions during an Akashic Reading offer helpfulness and hopefulness as well as profound empowerment through knowing the truth.

Full moon is a great time to energetically clear and cleanse your crystals and gemstones. Clear Quartz crystals amplify whatever energies that surround them. So it is a good idea to periodically c
lear and cleanse them of any unwanted energy- bad moods, negative thoughts, arguments that kind of unwanted energy. This is especially important to do if you are going to use the crystals for healing.
One of my favorite ways to cleanse my stones is to put them outside under the full moon. The energy of the moon light washes away anything that is no longer needed. I like to leave them out all night and into the next day so they can be charged by the light of the sun. I happen to live in a very safe area where I can do this, but if needed place them by a window where the light of the moon can shine on to them. The day before the full moon and the day after are also acceptable times to cleanse your stones. You can place them directly on the ground or put them on a soft cloth and lay them on a table where the moon light will shine brightly onto the stones.
I often find that after I have placed my crystals in the moonlight, they have a brighter glow to them, shining, radiating and ready to be of service. All color gemstones can be cleansed by the moon too.
So get your stones out and give them a full moon bath!

A simple candle spell that you can adapt to most anything you need. If you use it, please use it wisely. Don't use it to interfere with anyone else's life.
Find a spot where you will not be disturbed for awhile, and will have reasonable quiet. Use a flat level service, such as an altar. If you don't have an altar, you can use a coffee table or dresser. You can perform this spell during the day, or at night. If you do it at night, you can turn the lights off, but if it makes you uncomfortable, leave them on.
You will need a candle, corresponding to the spell. You will also need your athame or a pin. You can also use stones and crystals if you want. Check herb and color correspondences for the appropriate color, herb and oils. The shape of the candle does not really matter. Taper or Votive candles will work. If you can't find the color you need, use plain white.
Carve what you wish to accomplish into the candle with the athame or pin. If you are using a taper, carve the words from top to bottom, for increasing and bottom to top for decreasing. If you are using a votive candle, carve it around the candle clockwise for increasing, counterclockwise for decreasing.
Anoint the candle with the oil. A drop is enough. Rub from wick to end for increasing and end to wick for decreasing.
Put the candle in the holder. Sprinkle the herbs in a circle around the base of the candle, a pinch is more than enough. If you are using stones, set them in a circle around the candle holder. If you are using just one stone, set it beside the holder in the direction that corresponds to the purpose of your spell. For example, if you were doing a spell to increase your physical energy, you might set the stone in the south.
Light the candle. As you light the candle, visualize what you want to accomplish. To do this, think of what you need and hold a picture of it in your mind. You can also use a chant at this point or just say what you want to happen out loud. This is optional, in my opinion, visualization is just as effective.
Let the candle burn out completely if possible. DO Not leave it unattended. If you have to leave or go to sleep, put the candle out and relight it as soon as you can. No matter how safe you think your candle holders are, accidents can happen. I have had wax catch fire and cause a glass candleholder to split. If I hadn't been watching it, my altar would have caught fire. ALWAYS monitor your candles, and use fireproof holders.
When the candle has burned out, dispose of the wax and herbs. Bury it if possible

Types of candles used: You can use most any type of candle with success. As long as the intention and faith it there, the candle doesn’t much matter. I have used birthday candles in a pinch with success. You might find that you like certain types of candles after trying a few. Here are a few to consider: Taper: The most commonly used. You need a taper holder for these. They’re very inexpensive and work well
4-inch straight candles: These are around the size of a cigarette. They’re effective and burn out quickly, though you do need a specific kind of holder for them that may be hard to find. I’ve situated them in a cup of sand or dirt when I couldn’t find an appropriate sized holder.
7-day vigil or 2 day jar candles: these take a bit of time to burn out. They come glass encased and need no holder. You can carve your spell intent into the top of the candle, clockwise for increasing, counterclockwise for decreasing, or you can add a label to the jar with your spell intent. Anoint the top of the candle as stated above. If you use herbs, use a VERY light sprinkling, as they make it more likely the candle will catch fire and the glass will split. I usually stick them in a metal container in case the glass cracks which happens occasionally. They are good when you need an extra energy boost because of their tendency to burn a long time.
Votives: can be used same as above, for a shorter burning time. I do not like to re-use holders with votives as residual wax may stick., so tend to use cheap glass holders (check the dollar store) and throw them out when I’m done. The advantage of votives in a glass holder is that you can anoint the full candle with oils and herbs before you put them in the holder. Again, I put them on a metal or stone surface in the interests of fire safety.
Figure candles: Figure candles are available in a variety of shapes from various spiritual shops. The shape relates to the symbolism of the work and may depend on the magical systems. I am not crazy about this type of candle. The image can be useful for symbolic purposes, but check the quality of the wax as they are sometimes made from low quality wax and may crumple and burn out fast.
Soy candles: I love soy candles. Most contain no chemicals. I found a particular kind that came encased in a glass cup. They produced little or no soot and burned very clean.
Watch how your candles burn for signs as to how successful your spell may be. Your best result is where most of the wax is used and there is little or no blackness or soot. Soot can mean obstacles or adversity., and its wise to do a cleansing or working to remove these obstacles. Candles going out are also a VERY bad sign and may require repeated workings to wear down resistance. None of this applies if the candle was poorly made to being with. Sometimes the quality of the candle overall or the conditions it was burned in (drafts, etc) can affect how it looked at the end. May be done as is or check my herb list for appropriate herbs to use

Most people out there are not aware of the fact that their physical, mental and spiritual health is deeply intertwined. Our body comprises of seven chakras, and these chakras determine our overall wellbeing. Proper functioning of all the chakras ensures appropriate energy flow to all body parts including our vital organs. Needless to say, chakra cleansing and balancing is a must to enjoy good health and happiness. As such, there are many ways to clear, cleanse and balance our chakras. One can do it on own their own or pay an experienced practitioner to do the job. If you decide to do it yourself, then you should know in advance that the task requires you to be patient with your efforts. Below is the step by step instruction on how to cleanse and balance your chakras. First and foremost, you need to find a quiet room that is free from all sorts of noise and other distractions so that you are able to focus properly. You can consider playing some soothing music in the background, if you think that the soothing music will help you focus better. Sit comfortably in a meditation pose and visualize being surrounded by a protective bubble of white light. Now, imagine this protective bubble revolving around your body with increased pace. You will be using this protective bubble to energize yourself while meditating. You will be focusing on the root chakra while meditating. The root chakra is based at the bottom of your spine. Now, visualize the protective bubble of white light turning red. Next, visualize a beam of red light coming from the protective bubble of red energy. Visualize it passing from the back to the bottom of the spine. On the other side, picture the red light passing outward into the protective bubble of red light. As more light comes in, you will feel that the chak ra is opening up. Now, visualize the bubble changing into orange colour. Picture an orange ray of light passing from the bubble and through the back of your pelvic chakra. Imagine the beam of light passing out from the other side just below your belly. Keep visualizing this until you feel that the pelvic chakra has opened to its maximum potential. These steps need to be continued until the solar plexus chakra turns yellow in colour and the heart chakra turns green in colour. The throat chakra should be blue in colour, the third eye chakra should be indigo in colour and the crown purple should be of purple colour. Once you are done cleansing the crown chakra, picture yourself being surrounded with a ball of white light. Keep chanting your favourite mantra in your mind and thank any spiritual being while still maintaining the meditation pose. Slowly release the position and move your body to improve your blood circulation. Remember, you might have to make several attempts over here before being able to master the art of clearing and balancing your chakras on your own. The key over here is habitual practice that will set the balls rolling in your favour. Blessings   www.whitewitchcarmen.com

Every year, the fourteenth day of the month of February has millions across the world presenting their loved ones with candy, flowers, chocolates and other lovely gifts. In many countries, restaurants and eateries are seen to be filled with couples who are eager to celebrate their relationship and the joy of their togetherness through delicious cuisines. There hardly seems to be a young man or woman who is not keen to make the most of the day.
The reason behind all of this is a kindly cleric named Valentine who died more than a thousand years ago.
It is not exactly known why the 14th of February is known as Valentine's Day or if the noble Valentine really had any relation to this day. The history of Valentine's Day is impossible to be obtained from any archive and the veil of centuries gone by has made the origin behind this day more difficult to trace. It is only some legends that are our source for the history of Valentine's Day.
The modern St. Valentine's Day celebrations are said to have been derived from both ancient Christian and Roman tradition. As per one legend, the holiday has originated from the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalis/Lupercalia, a fertility celebration that used to observed annually on February 15. But the rise of Christianity in Europe saw many pagan holidays being renamed for and dedicated to the early Christian martyrs. Lupercalia was no exception. In 496 AD, Pope Gelasius turned Lupercalia into a Christian feast day and set its observance a day earlier, on February 14. He proclaimed February 14 to be the feast day in honor of Saint Valentine, a Roman martyr who lived in the 3rd century. It is this St. Valentine whom the modern Valentine's Day honors.
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, there were at least three early Christian saints by the name of Valentine. While one was a priest in Rome, another was a bishop in Terni. Nothing is known about the third St. Valentine except that he met his end in Africa. Surprisingly, all three of them were said to have been martyred on 14th February.
It is clear that Pope Gelasius intended to honor the first of these three aforementioned men. Most scholars believe that this St. Valentine was a priest who lived around 270 AD in Rome and attracted the disfavor of Roman emperor Claudius II who ruled during this time.
The story of St. Valentine has two different versions - the Protestant and the Catholic one. Both versions agree upon Saint Valentine being a bishop who held secret marriage ceremonies of soldiers in opposition to Claudius II who had prohibited marriage for young men and was executed by the latter. During the lifetime of Valentine, the golden era of Roman empire had almost come to an end. Lack of quality administrators led to frequent civil strife. Education declined, taxation increased and trade witnessed a very bad time. The Roman empire faced crisis from all sides, from the Gauls, Slavs, Huns, Turks and Mongolians from Northern Europe and Asia. The empire had grown too large to be shielded from external aggression and internal chaos with existing forces. Naturally, more and more capable men were required to to be recruited as soldiers and officers to protect the nation from takeover. When Claudius became the emperor, he felt that married men were more emotionally attached to their families, and thus, will not make good soldiers. He believed that marriage made the men weak. So he issued an edict forbidding marriage to assure quality soldiers.
The ban on marriage was a great shock for the Romans. But they dared not voice their protest against the mighty emperor. The kindly bishop Valentine also realized the injustice of the decree. He saw the trauma of young lovers who gave up all hopes of being united in marriage. He planned to counter the monarch's orders in secrecy. Whenever lovers thought of marrying, they went to Valentine who met them afterwards in a secret place, and joined them in the sacrament of matrimony. And thus he secretly performed many marriages for young lovers. But such things cannot remain hidden for long. It was only a matter of time before Claudius came to know of this "friend of lovers," and had him arrested.
While awaiting his sentence in prison, Valentine was approached by his jailor, Asterius. It was said that Valentine had some saintly abilities and one of them granted him the power to heal people. Asterius had a blind daughter and knowing of the miraculous powers of Valentine he requested the latter to restore the sight of his blind daughter. The Catholic legend has it that Valentine did this through the vehicle of his strong faith, a phenomenon refuted by the Protestant version which agrees otherwise with the Catholic one. Whatever the fact, it appears that Valentine in some way did succeed to help Asterius' blind daughter.
When Claudius II met Valentine, he was said to have been impressed by the dignity and conviction of the latter. However, Valentine refused to agree with the emperor regarding the ban on marriage. It is also said that the emperor tried to convert Valentine to the Roman gods but was unsuccesful in his efforts. Valentine refused to recognize Roman Gods and even attempted to convert the emperor, knowing the consequences fully. This angered Claudius II who gave the order of execution of Valentine.
Meanwhile, a deep friendship had been formed between Valentine and Asterius' daughter. It caused great grief to the young girl to hear of his friend's imminent death. It is said that just before his execution, Valentine asked for a pen and paper from his jailor, and signed a farewell message to her "From Your Valentine," a phrase that lived ever after. As per another legend, Valentine fell in love with the daughter of his jailer during his imprisonment. However, this legend is not given much importance by historians. The most plausible story surrounding St. Valentine is one not centered on Eros (passionate love) but on agape (Christian love): he was martyred for refusing to renounce his religion. Valentine is believed to have been executed on February 14, 270 AD.
Thus 14th February became a day for all lovers and Valentine became its Patron Saint. It began to be annually observed by young Romans who offered handwritten greetings of affection, known as Valentines, on this day to the women they admired. With the coming of Christianity, the day came to be known as St. Valentine's Day.
But it was only during the 14th century that St. Valentine's Day became definitively associated with love. UCLA medieval scholar Henry Ansgar Kelly, author of "Chaucer and the Cult of Saint Valentine", credits Chaucer as the one who first linked St. Valentine's Day with romance. In medieval France and England it was believed that birds mated on February 14. Hence, Chaucer used the image of birds as the symbol of lovers in poems dedicated to the day. In Chaucer's "The Parliament of Fowls," the royal engagement, the mating season of birds, and St. Valentine's Day are related:
"For this was on St. Valentine's Day, When every fowl cometh there to choose his mate."
By the Middle Ages, Valentine became as popular as to become one of the most popular saints in England and France. Despite attempts by the Christian church to sanctify the holiday, the association of Valentine’s Day with romance and courtship continued through the Middle Ages. The holiday evolved over the centuries. By the 18th century, gift-giving and exchanging hand-made cards on Valentine's Day had become common in England. Hand-made valentine cards made of lace, ribbons, and featuring cupids and hearts began to be created on this day and handed over to the man or woman one loved. This tradition eventually spread to the American colonies. It was not until the 1840s that Valentine's Day greeting cards began to be commercially produced in the U.S. The first American Valentine's Day greeting cards were created by Esther A. Howlanda Mount Holyoke, a graduate and native of Worcester. Mass. Howland, known as the Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap". It was when Howland began Valentine's cards in a large scale that the tradition really caught on in the rest of the world. BLESSINGS CARMEN

Scorpio People born between October 23rd and November 21st (some charts state November 22) are born under the constellation Scorpio.

Scorpio is a Water sign. In the language of astrology, this means Scorpions are people who are silent, mysterious types whose magic hypnotizes even the most determined realist. They have uncanny perceptions about people and as rich as the oceans when it comes to feeling, emotion, or imagination. They are emotional and intuitive.

Scorpions have the potential for the depths of darkness or the heights of mysticism and art.

This sign (or people born under this sign) help finish projects started by others and are also very supportive and passive creatures. They have a very strong desire and inclination to please. Like other Water signs, they live through their emotions, imaginations, and intuitions.

Scorpio's astrological statement is "I desire!" This can cause Scorpions to be very materialistic creatures, especially if they don't get in tune with their spiritual side of existence.

In tune with their spiritual side, they are very balanced creatures; however, it is important for this sign to not cling to one extreme of the pole, being very spiritual to the detriment of their material side and nature, or being very material and to the detriment of their spiritual side. Balance is key.

Keywords that describe this sign are: Sensitivity, Transformation, Mastery (especially self-mastery), Suspicious, Covert, Trauma, Self-destruction, Vindictive, Magnetism, Power, Sexuality, and Controlling.

Scorpio is traditionally the most sexual and most intense sign of the Zodiac. Befittingly, Scorpio rules the sex glands.

Scorpio corresponds to the astrological Eighth House, which deals with Regeneration, Death or Mortality, Inheritance, Taxes, Sex, and Metaphysics.

Scorpions do well in occupations dealing with health and healing (regeneration), death (morticians, undertakers, embalmers, etc.), inheritance (probate law), sex (sex therapist, sex instructor, sex educator, adult film star, etc.), and taxes (tax preparer, tax consultant, or even tax protestor after
Scorpios are "Fixed." They share this trait with Taurus, its astrological opposite, Leo, and Aquarius.

Scorpio's polarity is "Feminine." Feminine in astrological language means withdrawn, passive, and receptive in nature. These people are introverts whereas the Masculine signs are extroverts.

Other "Feminine" signs include: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn, and Pisces.

Scorpio's ideal sign for marriage compatibility is Taurus,Cancer its astrological opposite. The reason why astrological opposites or polarities make the best soul mates or marriage partners (despite otherwise being an incompatible sign) is due to the fact that there are so many challenges when opposites signs connect, but when these challenges are overcome (as they are in time), you have two very balanced individuals. The opposite of conflict is harmony so polar signs arrive at harmony in the end and experience a very balanced relationship.

Opposites signs help you to deal with your shadow side (or self), which manifests your negative traits. Your polar sign exposes you to hidden traits within yourself and help you to balance yourself, trait-wise. Your astrological opposite is your mirror upon which you can reflect upon.

Famous Scorpios

Famous Sun sign Scorpions include: Bill Gates, Ruby Dee, Larry King, Julia Roberts, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Lisa Bonet, Meg Ryan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Jodie Foster, Ike Turner, Whoopi Goldberg, Joaquin Phoenix, Sally Field, Goldie Hawn, Kevin Kline, Grace Kelly, Matthew McConaughey, Bo Derek, Dylan McDermott, Demi Moore, John Cleese, Martin Scorsese, Linda Evans, Danny Devito, Ann Reinking, Jonathan Winters, Richard Dreyfus, Lauren Hutton, Burt Lancaster, Rock Hudson, Q-Tip, Mariel Hemmingway, Art Carney, Jane Alexander, Mike Nichols, Brian Keith, Elke Sommer, Dennis Miller, Bibi Anderson, Sam Waterson, Richard Burton, Hilary Clinton, F. Murray Abraham, Maria Shriver, Charles Bronson, Kate Capshaw, Michael Landon, Tatum O'Neal, Harry Hamlin, Rickie Lee Jones, Henry Winkler, Bonnie Raitt, KD Lang, Roy Schieder, Neil Young, Lyle Lovett, Ruth Gordon, Nadia Comaneci, Ed Asner, Brenda Vacarro, Sir Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso, Helen ReddySam Shepherd, Lee Strasberg, Marla Maples, Prince Charles, Art Garfunkel, Ted Turner, Voltair, and Jason Christopher (a/k/a Godson).

Astrological Health Profile

In medical astrology, Scorpio governs the following bodily organs: genitals, reproductive organs, bladder, urethra, and rectum. There is a tendency with this sign to genital afflictions, venereal disease, rectal polyps, as well as sinus and adenoid trouble.

Scorpions are prone to the following diseases and disorders:

  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Uterine tract infections
  • Menstrual problems
  • Anal fissures
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Colitis
  • Hernias
  • Diarrhea
  • Crone's disease
  • Constipation
  • Ulcers
  • Prostatitis
  • Bladder infection
  • Uterine complaints (fibroid tumors)
  • Adenoids
  • Polyps
  • Profuse sweating
  • Sinusitis
  • Nasal catarrh
  • Pelvic inflammatory diseases
  • Intense body odor
  • Acne
  • Poisoned blood
  • Parasites
  • Candida (yeast infection)
  • Piles
  • Obsessions

Because Scorpio is the polarity of Taurus, Scorpions can pick up health complaints commonly experienced by Taurus such as neck and throat problems and because Scorpio is also very prone to sinus and adenoid problems, Taurus in the chart during a time of sickness could enhance any troubles with the sinuses and adenoids.

Pluto, co-ruler of Scorpio along with Mars, rules regenerative cell growth as well as the revitalization of the mental faculties. The Chi force in this sign can overcome even the most serious and life threatening of illnesses.

Mantra Vibration chakra Healing

As both ancient spiritual masters and modern quantum physicists acknowledge, the universe is vibration. Through sound and its ability to communicate with our chakras and subtle body, we can tap into the vibration of the universe for greater harmony and stronger relationships; physical, emotional, and spiritual healing; expanded consciousness; and planetary oneness. There are specific ways the voice can resonate the physical and subtle bodies, including 7 powerful chanted Bija Mantras and sacred vowel sounds to balance and align the chakras. Providing exercises with breath, tone, mantras, and seed sounds,  sound healing both individually or with a partner to strengthen relationships, reach deeper emotional levels, enhance communication, reduce stress, achieve inner balance, and create harmony with those around you as well as with the world around you.

The mainBija (seed) Mantras
OM is the most important of all mantras. All mantras generally begin and often also end with OM. However, there is much confusion about OM. OM is the mantra of assent. It means yes and affirms and energizes whatever we say after it. That is why all mantras begin with OM. OM is also the mantra of ascent and causes our energy to rise upward into the infinite. OM is expansive and increases the fire, air and ether elements, particularly ether. It also gives strength, protection and grace. It connects us with the guidance power of the inner Guru.

The Goddess Mantras

There are four great Goddess mantras that govern the prime forms of energy as magnetic force, electrical force, heat, and delight. This is a Tantric teaching that reflects the Vedic Word and the four main Vedic deities.

HRIM (pronounced Hreem) is the prime mantra of the Great Goddess and ruler of the worlds and holds all her creative and healing powers. HRIM governs over the cosmic magnetic energy and the power of the soul and causal body. It awakens us at a soul or heart level, connecting us to Divine forces of love and attraction. HRIM is the mantra of the Divine Maya that destroys the worldly maya. It has a solar quality to it but more of a dawn-like effect. It is charming and alluring, yet purifying . Through it we can control the illusion power of our own minds.
In Vedic terms HRIM is a mantra of the Sun, particularly in terms of illumination. It increases our aspiration and receptivity to Divine light, wisdom and truth. It opens the lotus of the heart to the inner Sun of consciousness. It is a mantra of the region of heaven or the consciousness space in which all the worlds exist.

KRIM (pronounced Kreem) is the great mantra of Kali, the Goddess of energy and transformation. It governs over prana as lightning or electrical energy. KRIM grants all spiritual faculties and powers — from the arousing of kundalini to opening the third eye. It has a special power relative to the lower chakras, which it can both stimulate and transform. It helps awaken and purify the subtle body. As a mantra of work and transformation KRIM is the mantra of Kriya Yoga, the Yoga of practice. It is the main mantra of the Yoga Shakti. As it is a strong mantra it should be used with care.
KRIM is a mantra of Indra, the supreme deity of the Vedas, the Divine as the cosmic lord and enlightenment force. KRIM is the thunderbolt or vajra that destroys the serpent of the ignorance and releases the light of absolute truth. It represents the force of the atmosphere (Atmic sphere) and carries the supreme life force.

HUM (pronounced Hoom) is a mantra of the inner fire or thermogenic force. It both calls the divine down into us and offers our soul upward to the Divine for transformation in the sacred fire of awareness. It is a Shiva mantra but also a mantra of Chandi, the fierce form of Kali. It is used to destroy negativity and creates great passion and vitality. As a powerful mantra it should also be used carefully. Yet it can be used in a more gentle manner to invoke divine grace and protection. Through it we can offer ourselves or our afflictions into the Divine for purification and transformation.
HUM is a Vedic mantra of Agni or fire. It is the mantra used to make offerings into the sacred fire. It also is used to call or invoke the fire and to make it flame up more brilliantly. It represents the soul hidden the body, the Divine immanent in the world. It governs the earth and the material sphere in general.

SHRIM (pronounced Shreem) is a mantra of love, devotion and beauty, relating to Lakshmi, the Goddess of Beauty and divine grace. Yet SHRIM works at a deeper level than merely to give us the good things of life, including health. It takes us to the heart and gives faith and steadiness to our emotional nature. SHRIM allows us to surrender to, take refuge in, or be immersed in whatever we offer the mantra to. It is the mantra of beauty and delight and has a pleasing lunar quality. It also relates to the head and can be used to flood the senses with divine beauty and delight. It promotes health and aids in fertility and rejuvenation.
In Vedic terms SHRIM is a Soma mantra. It gives love, joy, bliss, beauty and delight. It has the light of the Moon and governs the mind and the realm between the atmosphere and heaven. It purifies and integrates the various aspects of our nature and renders them into ambrosia.
These four mantras can be used together with OM:

This brings about an integral development of body, mind and soul in harmony with the Divine or inner Self.
Blessings Be

Crystals and other gemstones have been used in healing by many different cultures and civilizations for many thousands of years. In ancient Egypt the healing properties were renown, the Egyptians would grind down crystals and drink them for their "magical" healing properties, as would the people of the Roman empire who also made goblets and other artifacts using gemstones.
What's the magic secret?
There is no magical secret! Crystals, like everything else on this planet are made of energy, store energy and conduct energy.
A bit scientific
We understand that everything in existence is made up of the atom. We are made of atoms, your computer
screen is made of atoms, and the plants in your garden are made of atoms.
Atoms are an energy! Atoms react to other energy, for example when subjected to heat, the atoms in water
turn the water into steam. Steam is simply water atoms moving or vibrating very fast, so fast that we find them hard to see.
Just because we can't see them, doesn't mean they are not there! It is a fact that energy can not be created or destroyed.
Our energy body
Our physical bodies are made up of slow moving atoms, around our physical body is another energy field called our aura. Our aura is made up of energy vibrating at an extremely fast rate or frequency.
We can sometimes feel part of our aura by holding our hand 2-3 inches above our body and feeling the sensation of heat. We can feel the heat energy emitting from our body, but we can't see it.
Energy enters our body through energy "wheels" called chakras, our energy body is made up of 7 major chakras, which each direct energy to different areas of our body, through various pathways. In crystal healing, therapists often place crystals on the chakras to stimulate them and promote healing.
Every living thing needs energy to survive. Energy is found in heat, food, light, air etc... However there are
many other things which can boost the amount of energy that enters our body, as well as things which can deplete our energy sources. Have you ever felt very energetic, then spoken to somebody who has told you their problems and felt very tired or weak? - that person will have taken some of your energy!
Having crystals in our environment, wearing them or carrying them are ways to boost our energy levels.
Energy in us, is like petrol in a car, having a "full tank" of energy means that we can move forward.
Mind, body and spirit
It is commonly believed that if we do not have enough energy we become
unwell; firstly in our mind and then in our physical body. If we think negative thoughts, or if other people think badly of us energy is restricted
from moving through us. If we don't receive the energy we should then a part of us will not function
properly, it will then become ill. If we continue to restrict the energy from entering us, our illness will become
worse. We can increase the energy we are subject to in many ways, by eating healthily, drinking healthily,
taking exercise, thinking positively, spending time with nature, being around positive people, wearing and being around crystals....

How crystals work

Crystals are a natural product, formed within the earth (or in some cases from outer space). Crystals each hold
and conduct their own frequencies of energy, (due to the speed at which the energy vibrates) This energy is
scientifically known as electromagnetic energy.
The different energy frequencies of different crystals effect different parts of our mind and body.
By placing that particular crystal in our environment we will naturally take the energy the crystal conducts and
use it in our own body. If we are lacking that particular energy then it will fill our "energy tanks" therefore
helping to heal any problems which the lack of energy caused. If we have enough of that kind of energy, then
we simply won't use it, and it won't effect us in any way. Crystals help us to heal ourselves.

Cleansing crystals

As your crystals will be working very hard to increase your energy levels, it is important to let them have a rest, to cleanse them, and to let them recharge.
One way to do this is to:
1) Wash the crystal in cold rain water or salt water
2) Leave them on the window sill or outside for 48 hours to absorb both solar and lunar energies during a full moon in preference.
Try not to let other people handle your personal crystals, as this will pass their energies (good & bad) onto them. If somebody does handle them remember to cleanse and recharge them again.

Using your crystals

The easiest way to benefit from your crystals is to wear them. You may also:
• Bathe with them
• Carry them in your pocket / purse
• Mount them in jewellery
• Keep them on a shelf, on your TV or anywhere in your house or office
• Give them away - crystals make wonderful gifts
Crystal facts
• You can not be harmed by crystal energy
• Crystals will work without you thinking about them
• Crystals will work without you even believing in them
• Crystals will work simply by being in the same environment as them
• Crystals have been, and are used by many different religions and cultures.

For thousands of years in the cultures of India, Tibet and the eastern world, the chakras have been acknowledged
as gateways to our physical and mental health and well-being.
Our bodies are made up of an electromagnetic energy sometimes known as the aura. The chakras are responsible
for directing and distributing this energy throughout our body.
There are seven main chakra points on our body, each chakra is responsible for distributing energy to
different organs, nerves, muscles and other parts of our being.
In Sanskrit, the ancient Indian language, the word chakra means "wheel" or "vortex", this is exactly what the
chakras are, vortexes of energy. The Tibetan cultures and healers saw the chakras as lotus flowers, each with
a different number of petals, and each bearing its own ancient symbol, at the centre of the lotus flower was a
mantra (a sacred sound). By visualising the lotus flower, its symbol or repeating its mantra it is possible to
activate and balance the chakra.
For our mind and body to function healthily, each of our chakras needs to be balanced, in other words we
need to take in as much energy as we need. The amount of energy we take is effected by our lifestyle, what
we eat, the amount of exercise we do, stress, smoking, drinking alcohol etc.. If we lead an unhealthy lifestyle
our chakras can become blocked, not enough energy will get to parts of our body, and therefore our body will will become distressed and unwell.

WINTER SOLSTICE 21 JUNE 2012 AUSTRALIA - a task for you to do

Traditionally celebrated in Europe during Yule December
The rituals applicate with subtle differences as Christian Witches of Australia celebrate Winter Solstice In June and Yule in the Summer months.
The Winter Solstice is unique among days of the year — the time of the longest night and the shortest day. The dark triumphs but only briefly. For the Solstice is also a turning point. From now on (until the Summer Solstice, at any rate), the nights grow shorter and the days grow longer, the dark wanes and the Sun waxes in power. From the dark womb of the night, the light is born.
Many of the customs associated with the Winter Solstice (and therefore with other midwinter festivals such as St Lucy’s Day, Saturnalia, Hanukkah, New Years and Twelfth Night) derive from stories of a mighty battle between the dark and the light, which is won, naturally, by the light. Other traditions record this as the time a savior (the Sun-Child) is born to a virgin mother.
The Battle Between Old and New, Dark and Light
The Romans celebrated from December 17th to December 24th with a festival called Saturnalia, during which all work was put aside in favor of feasting and gambling. The social order was reversed, with masters waiting on their slaves. The Saturnalia is named after Saturn, who is often depicted with a sickle like the figures of Death or Old Father Time. Astrologically speaking, Saturn is saturnine: gloomy, old, dutiful and heavy. He was the god who ate his own children rather than let them surpass him. For new life to flourish, for the sun to rise again, it is necessary to vanquish this gloomy old fellow. Therefore, the feasting and merriment of the midwinter season are religiously mandated in order to combat the forces of gloom.
The day following the Saturnalia, was the Juvenalia, according to Z Budapest in The Grandmother of Time, a holiday in honor of children who were entertained, feasted and given good luck talismans. The union of a virgin and a supernatural force, like the couplings between Zeus and various nymphs, was shorthand indicating the presence of a miraculous child, a child with the powers of both worlds. Dionysus is such a child, born of a union between Zeus and Semele.
The Lenaia occurred on the twelfth day of the Greek lunar month, Gamelion, which falls in early winter. The twelfth day of a lunar month (which begins with the new moon) always falls on a full moon night. If we move this lunar festival to the solar calendar and count from the winter solstice, the festival would occur on January 5th or 6th.
Until the fourth century, Christ’s birthday was celebrated on January 6th, on the same date when the Virgin Kore gave birth to the year God celebrated in Alexandria with a festival called the Koreion. St. Epiphanius complains about the hideous mockery of this rite but it preceded the story of Christ’s birth. In the original ritual, the image of the goddess, decorated with gold stars, was carried seven times around her temple as the priests cried, “The Virgin has brought forth the new Aeon!”
Although Aeon, or Eon, is now defined as “an indefinitely long period of time; an age, eternity,” its Indo-European root aiw conveyed “vital force, life, long life, eternity,” and the Greek form Aion meant specifically “vital force.” [Farias]
This description recalls the Egyptian ceremony re-enacting the birth of Horus, the sun-god to Isis. All lights in the city were doused while Isis circled the sarcophagus seven times, then brought forth Horus who was called “the Light of the World.” Statues of Isis holding the newly born sun God on her lap, presenting him to the world, are similar to pose to later statues representing Mary and Jesus.
The Solstice candle, a large candle of red or orange or some other bright color decorated with holly or other evergreens type plants, was at one time a popular custom throughout Great Britain, Ireland and Scandinavia. One person, usually the eldest or the head of the household, is designated as the lightbringer. lights the candle for the first time on the Eve  of Solsticebefore the festive supper and during each of the remaining evenings of the Twelve Days of Solstice. To extinguish the candle, You snuff it with tongs rather than blowing it out, since that would blow the luck away. The candle sheds a blessing on the household and so is protected from accidental quenching. It seems likely that the candle also represented the coming year, just as the weather of each of the twelve days of Solstice foretell the weather of the corresponding month. It had protective or fertilizing powers and was kept as a charm. In Denmark, during a lightning storm, the remnant would be brought out and lit to protect the household.

Similar customs once surrounded the Yule log. The Yule log must never be bought but should be received as a gift, found or taken from you own property. Often the log to be burned at midwinter was chosen early in the year and set aside.
Tradition varies about the type of wood to be used. Oak logs were popular in the north of England, birch in Scotland and ash in Cornwall and Devon. Ash is the only wood that burns freely when green and the world-tree, Yggdrasil, in the Nordic tradition was an ash-tree. It is important that the Yule log be the biggest and greenest log available since the Christmas festivities will last only as long as the Yule log burns.
In some parts of the Scottish highlands, the head of the household finds a withered stump and carves it into the likeness of an old woman, the Cailleach Nollaich or Old Winter Wife, a sinister being representing the evils of winter and death. She's the goddess of winter, the hag of night, the old one who brings death. Burning her drives away the winter and protects the occupants of the household from death.
The Yule log is first brought into the house with great ceremony on Christmas Eve (or the eve of solstice, if one prefers). Usually it is decorated with holly and ivy and other evergreens of the season. Some people prefer to use the Yule log as a decoration and place candles on it instead, thus transforming it into a candleabra like the menorah or the kinara. It is lit with a piece of last year's log as described in Herrick’s poem, “Hesperides:”
In Italy, the Yule log is called the Ceppo. Boccaccio in the fourteenth century described a Florentine family gathering about the hearth and pouring a libation of wine upon the glowing wood, then sharing the remaining wine, thus linking the Yule log with the custom of wassailing, pouring out libations to the trees in the orchard.
The Yule log is left to burn all night, and, if possible, through the next twelve without going out, although it may be extinguished with water. The ashes are kept for good luck. They have magical properties and can be scattered in the field to fertilize the soil or sprinkled around the house for protection.
The Solstice Evergreen
Another ancient midwinter custom is decorating with greens. The Romans decorated with rosemary, bay, laurel, holly, ivy and mistletoe. The holly and ivy were both important midwinter plants in Great Britain and Ireland, as seen in the mysterious medieval carol which mentions the rivalry between them. Matthews in The Winter Solstice provides the lyrics of a 15th century carol which refers to an ancient battle between the two, with the Ivy representing the cold gloominess of winter and the Holly King, the jolly spirit of the season.
Sitting in the Dark
Earlier traditions focused on the battle between the dark and the light, but we know both are valuable. Honor the dark before calling in the light. This is the season when animals hibernate and nature sleeps and we can turn inward too. Perhaps some of the depression people feel during the holidays comes from not providing a space for feeling the sadness associated with this season. Set aside time (hard to do amidst the frenzy of the holidays) for sitting in the dark and quiet. I like to spend the entire day of the Winter Solstice in silence and reflection.

TASK -   Welcoming the Light
Light 12 candles for 12 days say a prayer blessing for each candle use 1 candle for each day

This is a natural time for letting go and saying farewell. Release your resentments and regrets into the darkness, knowing they will be transformed. Write about them in your journal or write them on slips of paper which you can burn in a fire. Use old cards or letters to make amends to people you've hurt or neglected or people you need to let go of this is a time for peace and release. Throw the ashes to the wind while saying "that which seek it be in love and light so mote it be"

There are seven main lines that palm readers look for when reading your palm. While we're going to focus on those that relate to your romantic love life and relationships, here is a brief overview of each of the main lines. These main lines are generally easy to find when
studying your palm.

The Love & Romance Lines
The Heart Line

line (1) appears above your head line and generally starts on the opposite side of your palm than the life and head lines and ends somewhere around your index finger. True to it's name,
the heart
line literally represents the "heart" that you show in your everyday life, including emotions,
, and everything centered around love, including your ability to love and be loved. A deeper, more distinct line represents a kind, generous person with deeper and warmer
of love, while an absent line would represent mercilessness and
and an inability to love. A heart line is one of
the best
indicators for compatibility and mate selection. Certain heart line types work well together.

.The Marriage Line
Also called your "love line", the marriage line encompasses everything in your love life. The marriage line is a small line found under your pinky, the area which is known as the mount of mercury. This small line comes from the outside of your palm around the edge to the inside. Some individuals have
marriage lines, each representing a separate marriage. If a cross is found on your marriage line, then the engagement or marriage that it represents will be broken. Other small marks on the marriage line represent
illicit affairs

Other Important Lines
The Life Line
Also called your age line, the life line (4) encompasses everything in your life (age, health, etc) and therefore is the most important line on your palm. Your life line starts on the side of your palm between your thumb and index finger flows downward towards your wrist.

The Head Line
The second most important line on your palm, the head line (2) represents your brain and intellect. If your head line is long, deep, and very distinct, then you likely have a sharp mind. If it is faint or broken in different places, then you're of weaker mind. Your head line begins on or near the life between your thumb and index finger. On most palms, they originate in the same place, though your head line may be separated from your life line.

If your head line tip descends more, it is said that you're creative and a romanticist.
If your tip stays straight, then you tend to be
and an egocentrist.
If your tip veers upwards, then you're more of a realist and have an analytical mind fit for business.

The Fate Line
Found in only 50% of all people, the fate line begins from various areas of the palm, but always ends under the middle finger in an area known as the mount of saturn. It generally develops form the bottom of the palm towards the upper side.

The Health Line
The health line encompasses your overall health and sickness. It begins in various areas of your palm, but always under the pinky in an area known as the mount of mercury.

The Line of Apollo or Sun
This line known as the "line of success" and though it begins in various areas of the palm, it always ends under the ring finger in an area known as the mount of apollo or mount of sun.

What does the Transit of Venus mean to astrology?

What happens during Transit of Venus?
The Transit of Venus pertains to the spectacular astronomical event when Venus takes a strategic position between the Earth and the sun. This particular motion by Venus normally happens, but when it does, the second planet from the sun is usually higher or lower, so it does not block the face of the sun. Twice in a hundred years, however, Venus is aligned between the Earth and the sun in a good position to block the sun's light. It is like an eclipse, but a miniature one. Instead of the sun looking like a ring of fire or a broken ball of light, it appears with a dot on its face instead.

The transit of Venus comes in pair every century. Earth saw the first of this lifetime's pair in June 2004.
What does the Transit of Venus mean to astrology?
For the astrologers, Venus is a planet that celebrates man's desire for the good things in life.
"Venus understands the beauty of form, possession and manifestation,"   "She is useful in practical and everyday living for protection, power and support. She supports aspiration, success and achievement in LIFE."
Egyptians see Venus as the "Giver of Life,".
The Sun, on the other hand, is the source of life energy. It gives light literally and figuratively, and with its light comes power.
Together, Venus and the Sun coming face to face is a huge cosmic event. How does it relate to the Mayans' prediction that the world will come to an end (or huge changes are coming) in December 2012?
The Mayans watched Venus obsessively, and had to have known that the end of their calendar would occur at the perfect time, in the same year as the transit of Venus. The Mayans associated Venus to terrifying ideas.

Venus actually represents the things we love, the people we love, how we connect... It's very much about highlighting and drawing attention to our desire nature... All of that is being punctuated with great intensity.
The transit of Venus will affect people on a personal level, individually.
I believe that we will be given the opportunity to become aware of who we are within our relationships, and if we are bringing our true self into our relationships. The energy of this eclipse also provides with the ability to bring balance within our relationships as well.
If astrology is meaningful to you, mark the date of this year's Venus transit. You may just notice one or a few changes with regards to your relationships and desires.

June 4, 2012 Partial Full Moon Eclipse — How it Effects YOU

June 4, 2012 Partial Full Moon Eclipse
A couple of posts back I mentioned that I suspected come June many people will be in a different place emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.  And this certainly is the case. The energy shifts of May have been remarkable and are continuing into June.
Many say they feel more expansive, receptive to change, less reactive and personal limitations are  dropping away.
During the month of May the universal energies have been assisting us with ascension and stepping into our true selves in a powerful way.  Many of you have been supporting  Universe by doing your inner work. Well done.
May 20th-21st we had a powerful solar eclipse which created a shift experienced by all whether conscious of it or not.
We are now midway through a two week period of getting acclimatized to this shift before the next one arrives.
June 4, 2012 there is a Partial Full Moon Lunar Eclipse followed by Venus in Transit June 5-6.
Venus in Transit is what I really want to focus on for my Elders of 12–They  are telling me that it will be very significant for all of us on planet earth.
However the Partial Full Moon Eclipse in Gemini/Sagittarius comes first.
The Full Moon on June 4th is often referred to as the Strawberry Moon, Rose Moon or Flower Moon. According to the Farmers Almanac the Algonquin Tribes called it the Strawberry Moon because it was their signal to gather the ripening fruit. In areas of the world where strawberries are not native, the moon was and still is referred to as Rose or Flower Moon.
Full Moons in general  pack a powerful punch affecting us on a emotional level. Add in an eclipse and the intensity is super charged.
During this partial full moon eclipse one third of the moon’s face will be dark when it is covered by the earth. EST- and Asia and Australia will be able to view it in the evening.
The actual full moon will be at 7:11 am EST.
An eclipse carries with it an energy of change in a cycle, pattern. Hidden patterns come to the forefront for release not only on a personal level but also on a global level. Countries, governments, businesses are all affected.
Course corrections in your life seem to come out of nowhere. Relationships of all kinds– business, family, friendships and love are highlighted in this course correction. The full moon eclipse energy will help to heal male/female issues and relationships. Be ready to let someone go or let someone in!
While all of this will be present during this partial full moon eclipse, The Tribunal, my channeling guides tell me that this celestial event will help to lift us into the light of Divine Love.
While the “Big Picture,” might be fuzzy during this time period keep searching for the truth.  Think clearly and always ask inside of yourself, to your inner being what is right for you.
This lunar full moon eclipse will inspire you. It will bring to the open new information allowing you to move forward, merge and unite.
Perhaps a revelation will unfold as you seek your truth.  You will gain a new perspective as the fullness of a plan is exposed or comes to fruition.

Car Feng Shui Tips.

Car Feng Shui Tips.

First and foremost, clean the clutter in the car. This seems so benign but is still so critically important to contributing to easy, safe and fun car travel. Once the clutter is cleaned out, then we'll make that new car smell a thing of the past. Use a small cotton ball soaked in a dozen drops of lemon essential oil as an all-natural air freshener and as a way to keep your mind on the road and off daydreams and distractions. A combo of six drops each of lemon and peppermint oils dripped on a cotton ball will keep the driver on the proverbial ball. Playing soft and soothing music will do more to enhance a good mood in the car than any other thing. And, lastly, affix a small convex mirror onto the back bumper of the car in order to repel or reflect bad juju, or to keep away evil energies and road rage.

Feng Shui for the front door of Home or Business

Feng Shui for the front door of Home or Business

The front door, or the main door, is very important in
, no matter we are speaking of the front door of a home or the front door of a business.
In feng shui, the house gets its
nourishment through the front door, so the stronger, healthier and more balanced the front door is, the stronger and better the quality of energy available for those who live in the house.
So, how does a strong
look and feel like? Good question. Here is what defines a front door with strong, good feng shui.

An unobstructed, open flow of energy to the front door.
This means there are no recycling bins, cracked old pots with dead plants or any other items blocking the flow of feng shui energy to your front door.
A front door that is well-cared for.
A front door that opens widely without squeaking, a front door that has good looking door hardware and paint. No odd looking, unused nails around the door frame, no rusty doorknobs, no worn out Christmas wreaths in June... you get the idea.

A front door that is in harmony with the feng shui element of its direction.
of the front door is very important in feng shui, so in order to harness the best energy it is advisable to choose
that is in harmony with the feng shui element of its direction.

A strong feng shui front door opens up to a smooth flow of energy in the main entry
. The efforts of attracting the best feng shui energy to your house will be wasted if your main entry does not have good feng shui. You need to channel the good feng shui energy throughout your house, and it all starts in your main entry.

A front door that "is enough", or has a good relationship with the house structure. A strong feng shui front door is a door that has good proportions in comparison to the house as a whole. This simple point is often forgotten during home renovations, so you can often see two or three story houses with tiny front doors that might have been enough when the house was initially just a small, ones story structure.

Place a plant with a strong presence in the direct pathway of energy. The feng shui use of a plant, ideally tall and wide, in a visually strong pot, will achieve the similar effect of redirecting the energy.
Reposition the existing furniture pieces to create a redirection of flow. If there is enough space in between the directly aligned doors, create a nice grouping, or a conversation area in the direct pathway. Ground the energy even more with a colourful rug.
Feng shui is all about balance and harmony, so be sure you check the energy of your front door often to assure good feng shui Chi flowing into your house.
One of the basic ways to check the energy flow in your home is to imagine Chi, or energy, as water. If water where to flow into your home from the
, where would it stagnate?
Would the water harmoniously and smoothly flow to all areas of your space, gently refreshing them, or would it rush right out the back door?
Front doors are very important in feng shui, because it is through the front door* that the house absorbs

The Great Pleiadian Eclipse Alignment - May 20, 2012

The Great Pleiadian Eclipse Alignment - May 20, 2012
On May 20, 2012, for the first time in 26,000 years, the Sun and Moon, and the constellation responsible for our spiritual evolution and ascension, the mystic Pleiades, will align in a spectacular, full Annular Solar Eclipse and a rare solar eclipse alignment will happen between the Earth, the Sun and, our central Sun, Alcyone in the Pleiades Constellation.
An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun, causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring), blocking most of the Sun's light. An annular eclipse appears as a partial eclipse over a region thousands of kilometres wide.
The annular phase will be visible from the Chinese coast, northern Taiwan, the south of Japan, and the western part of the United States and CanadaGuangzhouTaipeiTokyo and Albuquerque will be on the central path. Its maximum will occur in the North Pacific, south of the Aleutian islands for 5 min and 46.3 s, and finish in the western United States.
It will be the first central eclipse of the 21st century in the continental USA, and also the first annular eclipse there since the solar eclipse of May 10, 1994 which was also the previous eclipse of this series Solar Saros 128.
“The Pyramid of the Sun outside Mexico City at Teotihuacan is said to be aligned with the Pleiades, for its west face and many of the surrounding streets were aligned directly with the setting point of the Pleiades on midnight of the night when it is at its highest point. The Pleiades was clearly revered also by the Mayans, who in the area of Chichen Itza knew that the Sun casts a snake-like shadow on the side of the north stairway of the Kukulcan pyramid during the spring equinox. Some scholars have calculated that about 60 days after this shadow’s appearance, when the sun reaches its zenith over the Pyramid at mid-day (May 20 – May 23), there is another direct alignment with the Pleiades. This Pleiades-sun alignment may have a direct connection with Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent that came to bring a greater wisdom to the planet.
The ancient Egyptians also singled out the Pleiades as a female goddess, probably most often recognized as Neith, the “divine mother”, or Hathor, who took on the form of a cow (who carried the seeds of life). Pyramidologists working in Egypt in the last twelve years have found pyramidal texts that suggest the Egyptians revered the Pleiades as a higher divine star system, especially Alcyone, its brightest star.”
The Pleiades are a well-known sight in the Northern Hemisphere in winter and in the Southern Hemisphere in summer, and have been known since ancient times to cultures all around the world.  Early Dakota stories speak of the ancestors as being the Pleiades. The Hopis called the Pleiadians the ‘Chuhukon’, meaning those who cling together. They considered themselves direct descendents of the Pleiadians.
Navajos named the Pleiades the ‘Sparkling Suns’, the home of the ‘Black God’. The Iroquois pray to them for happiness. The Cree claim to have come to Earth from the stars in spirit form first and then became flesh and blood. Some Native Americans believed that all North
America came from the Pleiades. That they were actually descendents and had been given a task by the Pleiadians to keep the Earth safe.

UNDERSTANDING THE GODDESS Find your Goddess Archetype

Find the Goddess that is guiding you

How can ancient mythological goddess concepts be useful to women, today, in understanding their contemporary reality and concerns? This web site offers its readers information leading to understanding of these goddess types & qualities, offering women new paths to self-discovery, personal development and fulfilling direction. Discovering goddess influences within a woman can guide her Being in creating her own true-life story--not a story directed by others. Such understanding and inner access can guide a woman in making conscious choices that have personal meaning and fulfillment for her, as an individual.
Understanding goddess types offers a woman very specific means of increased self-awareness of herself, her relationship to her lover, partner, her way of parenting her children, her inner urges in her self-expression and creativity. New ways of understanding feminine psychology have been emerging in the past twenty years--from a feminine perspective. In a society that has trivialized the Goddess concept, learning of the significance of Goddess qualities/energy can be instructive for women and men. We are aware that women's and men's behaviors, attitudes, likes and dislikes do appear to conform to particular typologies.
Understanding Goddess energy/types can help women discover their true natures--their innate gifts and abilities, recognize where they are best suited in life, appreciate their strengths as well as understand their areas of challenge. Furthermore, Goddess energy types are drawn to other particular Goddess types as friends and cohorts and find other types less appealing. They are better suited to one type of career or life direction than another. Most interesting, we women have a combination of a number of Goddess energy/types within ourselves of varying ascendancy. By increasing our consciousness of these various energies we have an opportunity to affirm and express our more primary goddess qualities as well as discovering ways to draw out the more recessive Goddess qualities within us. In this way, we bring into balance our hidden goddess qualities and better actualize our gifts.
A Goddess typology 'Quiz' is available at this site providing women a means of determining their Goddess qualities in varying ascendancy.
What is "Goddess"? Looking first at Webster's Dictionary, goddess is defined:
  1. a female god
  2. A woman greatly admired, as for her beauty.
Such a masculinized definition sorely trivializes the concept and potentials of goddess, historically, and collectively diminishes the significance of her role in women's lives, then and now. On the contrary, Goddess mythology provides women, today, an ancient mirror of womanhood--Goddess being a divine, guiding and supernatural force. Our psyche needs these images to nurture its growth. These mythic images can guide us to see who we are and what we might become.
Goddess, from a feminine perspective, represents a particular feminine archetype. Archetype, as a concept, is at the foundation of Carl Jung's psychological works. Archetypes are deep enduring patterns of thought and behavior laid down in the human psyche that remain powerful over long periods of time and transcend cultures. Archetypes form the basis for all unlearned, instinctive patterns of behavior that humankind--regardless of culture--shares in common. Archetypes are found in dreams, literature, art and myth and communicate to us through many symbols. Archetypes compose the ultimate source of psychic symbols which, in turn, attract energy, structure it and influence the creation of civilization and culture. Consider: male and female organs are, in fact, symbols for the archetypal energies known by the Chinese as yin and yang. Archetypes also go beyond the psyche bridging inner and outer worlds.
A goddess is the form that a feminine archetype may take. Goddess types represent models of ways of being and behaving that we women all share and recognize from the collective unconscious. In fairy tales this archetype may be revealed to us as a queen, a princess or a witch. In our nighttime dreams we tap into the collective unconscious whereby we access the common pool of archetypal images. Goddesses, as a feminine archetype, remain alive to this day in the psychology of women; and, depending upon which energies are more pronounced, influence her personality with a distinct character, a way of being, a way of relating in the world--a way of offering her special gifts. In other words, women are a blend of these types with particular types predominating while other qualities may be more recessive--out of her conscious awareness.
Historically, masculine rulers/conquerors of lands and societies, usurped the goddess power in these societies they conquered and absorbed and distorted these goddesses into their own beliefs of whom they most resembled. For example, under Roman rulership, many of the Celtic goddesses were taken over--such as Brigit, who seemed similar to the Roman goddess, Minerva (Greek Athena). Subsequently, when the Christian male dominated, and found the goddess cult so revered by the so-called 'pagans', the Christian males, unable to eradicate the goddess reverence, instead, canonized her as St. Bridget. They couldn't do away with Brigit because her followers so revered her. Therefore, she was reinvented as a nun; nevertheless, she retained her pagan qualities and festival celebrations among her loyal followers.
Personally, the ancient Greek historian, Hesiod's interpretation of the Olympian goddess myths is preferred and used, here, over the perspectives of Homer.
A note on historic dating: B.C.E. refers to Before Current Era (previously referred to as Before Christ.) and C.E. refers to Current Era, which begins our current 2000 years. The late '60's marked a new dating system and the shift away from the Bible as an historical marker.
Jungian psychologists Jennifer and Roger Woolger provide a most outstanding and complete academic coverage of the influence of goddess types in their book, The Goddess Within: A Guide To The Eternal Myths That Shape Women's Lives, 1987. In their book they have selected six major goddess archetypes from the classical Greek period (c.500-300 B.C.E.) that they perceive as most active in the psyche of today's contemporary woman.
Jungian analyst, Jean Shinoda Bolen, a clinical professor of psychiatry, has also authored a very popular, and perhaps a somewhat more personal book on Goddess types. Her book, The Goddesses in Everywoman, 1985 & 2004, explores seven feminine archetypes. Bolen identifies two categories of goddess: 'virgin' and 'vulnerable'.
The following is a summary of these feminine archetypes--identified as Olympian goddesses of ancient Greek mythology. Bolen & the Woolgers conceptualize 'virgin', meaning untouched, unmarked, pure, untrod, undiscovered, unworked by man--as in virgin forest, virgin snow; uncombined in its native form--as in virgin silver. These virgin goddesses represent qualities of autonomy, independence and self-sufficiency. This archetype represents the woman whose purpose does not become distracted or diverted by relationship--but actively pursues her own goals. Virgin, therefore, is not merely referencing sexuality.
Vulnerable goddesses refer to relationship-oriented archetypes depicting the nature of traditional wife, mother and daughter roles. The well-being of this archetype relies on involvement in a significant interpersonal relationship. Bolen asserts that each of these vulnerable goddesses experienced anguish at the hands of the male and suffered in her own distinctive way. Each type also exhibits symptoms resembling psychological illness; however, also instructive is growth through suffering that is inherent in this category.
A key difference between the goddesses of ancient times and the present-day, New Age depiction of goddess: the goddesses of ancient times contains within them qualities of light and dark--nurturer and destroyer. New Age ideology frequently tends to avoid/deny the shadow aspects while acknowledging and celebrating only the so-called 'positive' qualities. In fact, as in all of us, even within the goddesses we find dark qualities. As we increase our awareness of these shadow aspects within our own psyche, less and less are we obligated to experience these difficulties through other people or outer circumstances. Furthermore, these shadow parts we initially resist, when increasingly acknowledged, become the most illuminating and transformative aspects in our lives.
Through understanding these ancient goddesses, women of today can reconnect with their own inner cycles, physically as well as psychologically/spiritually. Goddess cycles of disappearance--reappearance; creation--destruction; nurturing--devouring; birth--death; giving--taking away. Within the goddess is the cosmos--containing the continuum of opposites as a circle. Death is not merely an ending; it is also a beginning. These seeming opposites are capable of being reconciled, brought together through goddess wisdom. The goddess not only nurtures physical life but, also, the life of the soul.
When you take your 'goddess' type quiz, you will be able to obtain ratings, like a score, which determines how much or how little of each of these types are alive within you. As you read, below, about the goddess qualities, you will gain more of a sense of qualities you identify with--have consciously available to work with--and qualities that may be out of your conscious awareness that you may choose to strengthen or to develop. Although there are many more goddesses, historically, we will explore the seven Greek goddesses of Mt. Olympus, described below.
The initial 'short list' (just below) provides a brief psychological overview of each goddess--her temperament, her primary interests, a little about her history. Below this list is a more in depth exploration of each goddess including her historic information and her nature as a child and adolescent, her wound, her gifts. The goddesses are listed, below, as polarities, for example: Athena & Artemis are opposites; Hera & Persephone are opposites, etc.

It is also important to realize that we women will experience changing predominance of these goddess types at different periods of our lives. For example, a woman may, in her late teens and early twenties, relate strongly to Aphrodite qualities. By her late twenties and into her thirties, desiring marriage and a family, she may find Aphrodite energy fading and Demeter energy more pronounced. By mid life, women experience another significant shift, a mother may find her focus shifting as her grown children leave home and are less available to her, she may begin to feel somewhat directionless, uncertain. It's not uncommon that a more familiar goddess quality begins to conflict with a newly emerging quality--feeling pulled between two very different goddess desires at the same time. These differentiated goddess aspects give us a language for understanding these stages in our lives as well as keys to working with the inner conflicts we experience.

Recent Solar Storm has more effect than first realised

A recent spate of furious eruptions on the surface of the sun hurled a huge amount of heat toward Earth — the biggest dose our planet has received from our closest star in seven years, NASA scientists said.
The March 8 through 10 solar storm shot enough energy toward Earth to power every home in New York City for two years, according to space agency researchers.
Although the influx of solar energy puffed up the atmosphere, increasing drag on low-orbiting satellites, it caused fewer disruptions to electronic infrastructure such as electronic grids than some expected. It also offered plenty of eye candy, sparking dazzling auroras in many places.
"It was a big event, and shows how solar activity can directly affect our planet," Martin Mlynczak of NASA Langley Research Center said in a statement.
The solar eruptions began on March 6, and on March 8 a coronal mass ejection — a wave of charged particles — smashed into Earth's magnetic field.
For the next three days, the upper atmosphere, known as the thermosphere, absorbed 26 billion kilowatt-hours of energy. Infrared radiation from carbon dioxide and nitric oxide, the two most efficient coolants in the thermosphere, radiated 95 percent of that total back into space.
"The thermosphere lit up like a Christmas tree," said James Russell of Virginia's Hampton University.
Both Russell and Mlynczak work with SABER, an instrument aboard a NASA satellite. The instrument monitors infrared emissions from Earth’s upper atmosphere, particularly from carbon dioxide and nitric oxide. Both compounds play a key role in the energy balance hundreds of miles above our planet's surface.
Mlynczak said that, despite the impressive numbers, there's no way to harness the incredible amount of energy the sun shot at the Earth. "It’s so diffuse and out of reach high above Earth's surface," he said. And, he added, carbon dioxide and nitric oxide send the majority of the energy back into space.
Although the early March solar storm is ended, the scientists said there is plenty more to come.

The Physiological Importance of the Pineal Gland
During the late 1990's in England, a scientist by the name of Jennifer Luke undertook the first study the effects of sodium fluoride on the pineal gland. She determined that the pineal gland
, located in the middle of the brain, was a target for fluoride. The pineal gland simply absorbed more fluoride than any other physical matter in the body, even bones.
Because of the pineal gland's importance to the endocrine system, her conclusions were a breakthrough. Her study provided the missing link to a lot of physiological damage from sodium fluoride that had been hypothesized but not positively connected. A veritable root source for the chain reaction of blocked endocrine activity had been isolated.
Good news though. Frequent exposure to outdoor sunshine, 20 minutes or so at a time, will help stimulate a fluoride calcified pineal gland. Just make sure you take off your hat. This is more important than most realize, because the pineal gland affects so much other enzyme and endocrine activity, including melatonin production.

”Do Fairies live at the bottom of your garden?
not anymore but a recent discovery would suggest that they probably did. What appear to be the mummified remains of a fairy have been discovered in the Derbyshire countryside. The 8inch remains complete with wings; skin, teeth and flowing red hair have been examined by anthropologists and forensic experts who can confirm that the body is genuine. X-rays of the ‘fairy’ reveal an anatomically identical skeleton to that of a child. The bones however, are hollow like those of a bird making them particularly light. The puzzling presence of a navel even suggests that the beings reproduce the same as humans despite the absence of reproductive organs.
The remains were discovered by a local man, who wishes to remain anonymous, while walking his dog along an old roman road situated between the Derbyshire villages of Duffield and Belper. The area has long been shrouded in mystery with tales of ghostly highwaymen and strange ‘dancing’ lights on warm summer evenings.
“I was walking along the lane at a point which passes an old Iron Age barrow (burial mound) when my dog began to bark and act rather strangely. He was barking in the direction of the barrow and would not go anywhere near it which was strange as we walk past it almost every day. I was curious and approached the mound to see what could be disturbing him and it then I noticed something odd…..in the side of the barrow, a fissure as if a section of ground had subsided or opened up. The crack measured about 2ft long and 1ft wide and looked to have been formed recently as I had never seen it before. I knelt down and looked inside the dark hole. The hill seemed to be hollow like a cave as I could feel a cool draught against my skin. I used the small led torch on my car keys to see if I could see anything in the darkness. It was at this point I saw something that startled me, 2 or 3 feet in front of me I could see a human like form only this was much smaller. My initial instinct was to call the police as I thought it may be the body of a small child but as I looked closer I could see that this was not the case. It was too small and more importantly, it had what appeared to be wings! Not want to touch it I used a stick to carefully drag it out and picked it up in one of the dog’s poo bags (empty of course).”
He immediately called his wife stating he had found something ‘unbelievable’ and asked her to bring a camera and a box immediately.“When I first arrived I could hear the dog barking from some distance, I had no idea what he had found. As I approached the barrow I could see my husband crouched down looking a something on the floor. “What have you found?” I shouted, “See for yourself” he said. I looked down and saw a tiny but perfect mummified human body with hair, dark brown skin and more disturbingly, wings. “I know what it looks like”, he said “but how can it be? And there’s not just one, I’ve had another look inside that hole in the ground and there are more!”
The body was taken home in a biscuit tin and kept in a garage overnight. The following day the local police were informed and the remains were taken away for analysis. As a local expert on the paranormal I was approached by the police for my advice although this was kept rather quiet to avoid ridicule and press attention. I was taken to the location by the man who originally discovered this amazing find. On closer inspection the barrow appears to contain more that 20 fairy bodies all in varying states of mummification.
The dry cave like interior has preserved the remains to such a degree that some bodies even have tiny finger nails and eye brows. I have returned since then to document the find as much as possible. On one particular occasion I was shocked to discover that some attempt had been made to reseal the barrow but by whom?
The site appears to be a burial ground for fairy folk and the exact location of the find has not been revealed and no further remains have been removed from the mound. It has not been substantiated how long the remains have been there although the state of mummification would suggest more than 400 years. The countryside could be strewn with hidden burial mounds which have lain undiscovered for centuries. How could such creatures exist without detection for so many years? Cryptozoologists who have examined the remains suspect they have evolved to suit their surrounding so well they would be virtually invisible to the naked eye. Their wings and skin pigment would camouflage them extremely well and they would most probably live in the tree tops and rarely venture down to ground level. In winter they would probably retreat underground into cave networks.Whether they still exist is another question but the remains found in Derbyshire have laid thousands of years of folklore to rest.”

BLESSINGS FOR the new year.
Wanted to share this with all of you, its because of you and your generosity we are achieving new goals every year.

Dear Carmen
I want to thank you for being such a generous and kind ongoing supporter of Camp Quality. Your generosity has helped ease the burden of cancer for thousands of amazing kids and their families.
As CEO, I’ve met some incredibly brave children and parents in my time, but  there’s one  family  I will never  forget.
Despite being absolutely devastated by the news that her two-year-old daughter had cancer, watching her child suffer through invasive treatments, and struggling to keep her family together throughout it all, Laura wants to share her family’s story with you.
This brave mother of an even braver child has opened up to us because she has seen the incredible difference Camp Quality makes to the life of a child with cancer.
Laura’s little daughter, Isabella, is not completely out of the woods yet.
And she, like all children who experience cancer, has lost years that should have been spent simply being a child.
But, with your help, we can get children like Isabella through their cancer journey with laughter, optimism and resilience.
Thanks for your time and continuing support.
Simon Rountree
CEO, Camp Quality

November TOPAZ Feng Shui TIP

The precious gem most associated with this month of November is the venerable and mysterious topaz. This stone has been a body adornment for at least 2000 years and has been called one of the precious gemstones that formed the foundations of the twelve gates to the Holy City of Jerusalem. These stones are often referred to as 'apocalyptic' in their nature since they are believed to hold miraculously protective powers. It has long been believed that when worn with this same intent, the topaz can keep anyone safe from enemies. In the realm of mystery and mysticism, the topaz contains a cooling or antiseptic effect while also being said to be able to dispel sadness and anger. It's also said that simply sleeping with a topaz close or next to the skin can relieve nighttime fears. Some legend goes so far to share that a man who wears a topaz will grow more handsome and intelligent while a woman will become much more fertile and happy. Handsomer, smarter, fertile and happy.

An Irish Blessing for Halloween
At all Hallow's Tide, may God Goddess keep you safe
From goblin and pooka and black-hearted stranger,
From harm of the water and hurt of the fire,
From thorns of the bramble, from all other danger,
From Will O' The Wisp haunting the mire;
From stumbles and tumbles
and tricksters to vex you,
May God & Goddess in mercy,
bless protect you. xxxxxx

                                      HEALTH & WELLBEING

There have been many times that my readers or clients tell me that they don't get their mammograms because they fear negative results and they'd rather live in denial than in empowerment. I especially hear this from women who suffer from breast mastitis, or inflammation of the breast. The two most common types of this condition are acute mastitis involving bacterial infection, and a chronic mastitis with no infection but with tenderness and pain. This is a condition that MUST be checked by a qualified healthcare professional so that it can be adequately addressed and treated. Once diagnosed, then perhaps mammography won't seem so daunting. And in a month devoted to breast health awareness, this 'National Mammography Day' encourages every woman (and men with familial history) to do exactly that. The following home remedies have proven perfectly wonder-full for women suffering from mastitis ailments. As soon as you feel any soreness in the breast you should drink all-natural violet leaf tea, two to four cups daily. You can even make a poultice from the tea leaves and apply it directly to the breast. If the mastitis is recurrent, then dandelion leaf tea will blow the bacteria away. Three cups of this tea every day has been known to bring balance back to the breasts, and the entire body as well. You can also make a poultice from the leaves of dandelion leaf tea and apply it to the affected breast once a day for twenty minutes. Either way, the message from this healing dandelion will be 'Loves Me' and loves my healthy and healed breast, too!

The good news right now is that there is less intensity happening in the psychic atmosphere today than yesterday. However, some of the havoc created on Monday - via the Mars-Uranus and Mercury-Jupiter clashes - still remains in effect.

Meanwhile, the Moon in Cancer is your celestial reminder to deal with residential chores like making the kitchen and bath areas shine again, sprucing up the living room or conducting major clean-up campaigns. Cooking and baking are highlighted. Experimenting with soups, chowders and seafood dishes hits the spot.

After the Moon creates some consternation by opposing Pluto the lunar orb is a favorable influence by forming a supportive, 60-degree alliance with giant Jupiter  and making flowing trines to Mercury  and Venus .

The major challenging planetary conflict comes from Mars forming an off-kilter, 150-degree link to Ceres. Be extra sensitive and kind to maternal figures, children and pets. Becoming angry over a trifle is taboo.

A wave of nostalgia can easily rise to the surface tonight under the Cancer Moon vibrations which often summon the past and historical events with ease. A Mercury-Venus parallel can also be a signal that all is well on the friendship and romantic fronts since both of these celestial bodies are in passion-centered Scorpio.
